COLUMBIA — A Rocheport man won $100,000 on Wednesday playing the Missouri Lottery’s “Mega Fortune” Scratchers game.

Alan Cole, 47, works as a courier, according to a Missouri Lottery news release. The release said that he looked forward to paying off bills and beginning the new year with a good financial start.

The odds of winning a prize for “Mega Fortune” is 1 in 4.03 overall. However, the odds of winning one of the nine $100,000 prizes is 1 in 586,667, Missouri Lottery spokeswoman Shelly Perez said.

Cole is the first to win a top prize for this Scratchers game since its release, Perez said.
