MU softball team scores upset win

The No. 21 Missouri softball team beat No. 15 Virginia Tech 2-1 Sunday in the final game of the Florida International University Invitational.

Junior infielder Andee Allen scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning on a Virginia Tech (3-3) throwing error. Allen finished with two hits and a walk.

Sophomore pitcher Jana Hainey earned the win in a relief appearance for junior Stacy Delaney. Hainey pitched three perfect innings and struck out three.

Missouri (3-2) plays next against UCLA at 11 a.m. Friday in Las Vegas.
