Ryan Goold, bottom left, propels his rocket-powered egg launcher at the American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ Egg Catapult, part of MU’s Engineers’ Week, on Monday. Six groups competed to hit a frying pan 60 feet away with an egg.

Ryan Goold, Brian Doerhoff and Travis Cardoza work to attach a fresh motor to their launcher. The trio spent 15 hours building and testing the device.
