COLUMBIA — A 21-year-old Columbia man was arrested Thursday afternoon on suspicion of second-degree statutory sodomy, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.

Brandon S. Lewis was taken into custody after a school official reported to the police that a 14-year-old girl had performed oral sex on him, said Boone County Sheriff’s Dept. Maj. Tom Reddin. Reddin would not disclose the name of the school in order to protect the victim’s privacy. Reddin said the minor consented to the sexual activity, which happened some time last weekend. A school official, whose name Reddin declined to give in order to protect the individual, heard about the occurrence and reported it to police.

Lewis was released from the Boone County Jail on Thursday on a $4,500 bond. If he is charged and convicted, he could get up to seven years in prison or a $5,000 fine.
