Man hospitalized with minor injuries after accident

COLUMBIA — A Columbia man sustained minor injuries early Sunday morning after his car slid into an empty, parked tractor trailer on Maguire Boulevard, Columbia police said.

Boston L. Hatcher, 21, was driving northbound on Maguire Boulevard at a high speed around 12:45 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the parked tractor trailer near the Lemone Industrial Boulevard intersection, according to a police news release. Hatcher was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Hatcher was admitted to a hospital with minor injuries after being transported there by personal vehicle, according to the release.

Witnesses told police the driver was racing at the time of the accident, according to the release.
