COLUMBIA — Police are looking for an armed man who stole a car from a 24-year-old St. Charles man early Saturday morning.

The St. Charles man was driving north on Providence Road at around 1:30 a.m. When he turned east on Ash Street, a man approached his car and pointed a gun at him, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

The man took his vehicle and wallet and drove the vehicle west on Ash Street, according to the news release.

Police later found the vehicle unoccupied in a parking lot on Allen Street near Bryant Walkway at about 3:20 a.m. Some property was missing from the vehicle, according to the news release.

The suspect is a black male, about 6 feet tall with a slender build, last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
