MU golfer wins St. Louis amateur event

Missouri senior women's golfer Chelsea Schriewer earned a one-shot victory over top St. Louis Amateur Ellen Port on Tuesday at the the St. Louis Metropolitan Women's Amateur Championship at Bogey Hills Country Club. Schriewer shot a 140 in a contest that came down to the final hole.

It was the second tournament this month that Schriewer won by a shot over Port. Schriewer also beat Port on Aug. 17 in the Missouri Women's State Amateur Championship at Osage National Golf Club.

Lindsey Haupt, a sophomore at Missouri, finished third in the St. Louis Metropolitan event with a 147. Incoming freshman Jacque Bardgett was fifth at 155, and sophomore Kelsey Meyer finished 13th at 168.
