ARNOLD — A 13-year-old boy has died after an accident when he was playing catch with another teen in a St. Louis suburb.

The president of a De Soto league, Scott Charleville, said two boys were playing catch at the Arnold Athletic Association Thursday evening when one of the boys looked away. The ball hit him below his ear on the neck.

The boy collapsed. A coach gave him CPR until an ambulance arrived.

The boy was hospitalized but died Friday afternoon.
