PARK HILLS - A National Guardsman from eastern Missouri faces charges of parental kidnapping.

St. Francois County Sheriff Dan Bullock says 50-year-old Bruce Nations of Park Hills turned himself in on Wednesday, ending a search that lasted more than two weeks. His son, 3-year-old Rugger, is back with the child's mother.

Authorities say Nations took off with the child after returning from duty in Iraq on July 20. In addition to the kidnapping charge, he is charged with resisting arrest after running away from deputies when they nearly captured him on Aug. 2.
