Police seek suspect in bank robbery

COLUMBIA - Police are seeking a suspect in the robbery of Boone County National Bank earlier this afternoon.

Police responded to a bank alarm at 1:33 p.m. at Boone County National Bank on 2711 West Broadway, a Columbia Police Department news release stated.

The suspect handed the teller a note and implied he had a weapon but didn't display one, the release said. The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money and he left the bank on foot traveling southwest, the release stated.

Wow, two in a row. How'd this one leave the scene of the crime? By pogo-stick?
Most banks have a policy of asking patrons to remove their caps when entering the premises so that the cameras can record accuate ID. It's a shame that this bank did not enforce this policy. (As a courtesy to the tellers, I am now in the habit of doing this, whether there's a sign posted or not.)
I hope they catch this guy real soon. He's giving ball caps a bad rep.

Boone County National Bank robbed
The armed robbery occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the Boone County National Bank on 2711 W. Broadway. The suspect is said to be armed with a semiautomatic handgun. Police are searching the area. The description that came over the scanner said the suspect was a white male, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and in his 30s. He is cleanshaven and has strong facial features. He's wearing a black or dark gray hoodie or coat and is carrying a big watch.
