Friday, September 19, 2008 | 2:35 p.m. CDT

SPRINGFIELD - Law officers are looking for a woman seen in a Platte County rest area around the time Springfield truck driver Valentin Kirilchuk was shot to death.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Thursday the "person of interest" was white, 30 years old with shoulder-length reddish-blond hair and freckles. She was wearing a white blouse with designs on the collar and an unbuttoned jacket or sweater.

She also was described as having a weak southern accent.

Kirilchuk was found dead of a gunshot wound in the men's room of the Interstate 29 rest stop near Platte City on the night of Sept. 8.

Investigators say they're also looking for a white SUV occupied by three people that was seen in the rest area between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on that date.
