UNIVERSITY CITY — University City police have made an arrest linked to the murder of a 22-year-old woman who was pregnant with her first child.

Police say the suspect is a 35-year-old man but have not released his name or other information about him.

The grandmother of Shamika Herman entered Herman's suburban St. Louis home Thursday afternoon and found the woman unconscious. Relatives say Herman was beaten to death.

Police Capt. Michael Ransom says investigators believe the slaying was not a random act.
