COLUMBIA — Columbia police arrested a Columbia man Friday morning on suspicion of second-degree statutory sodomy and furnishing pornographic materials to a minor.

John Andrew Griffith, 31, posted $23,000 bail and was released at 3:27 p.m. Friday from Boone County Jail.

According to a news release from the Police Department, Griffith "made incriminating statements that were later supported by further investigation" after being taken into custody at 11 a.m. at the suspect's place of employment.

The minor in the case is a 14-year-old male.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have further information on the pending investigation to contact the Major Crimes Unit of the Columbia Police Department at 874-7652.
