COLUMBIA — One man was sent to University Hospital after a car hit an MU van near the intersection of University and College on Friday, said MU Police Capt. Brian Weimer.

Robert Miller, driver of the car, was traveling southbound on College Avenue when he struck Kenny Kerr, driver of the van, who was pulling out of Schweitzer Hall's driveway, Weimer said. Upon impact, the van overturned. Kerr was sent to University Hospital and was treated and released.

Kerr was issued a summons for failure to yield, Weimer said.
