Fatal traffic accident on U.S. 54 result of icy road

FULTON — A mid-Missouri man is dead following a traffic accident on an icy road in Fulton early Monday morning around 6:30 a.m.

Police said 51-year-old Bruce Duxbury of Holts Summit lost control of his sport utility vehicle on U.S. 54 and veered into the path of a utility truck.

Duxbury and a passenger both were thrown from the SUV. The passenger was flown to a Columbia hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the utility truck was uninjured.
