Attorney named chairman of Missouri GOP

JEFFERSON CITY — Cassville attorney David Cole has been named chairman of the Missouri Republican Party after a 68-0 vote by the Republican Central Committee on Saturday.

Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder announced Cole's appointment during a conference call with county Republican leaders from across the state.

Cole is chairman of the 7th Congressional District Republican Campaign Committee and replaces outgoing state party chairman Doug Russell.

Cole's responsibilities will include focusing on the 2010 elections and finding someone to run for Sen. Kit Bond's seat.
