COLUMBIA — A Hallsville teenager remained at University Hospital on Monday night after her car collided head-on with an ambulance north of Columbia.

Kayci Fadler, 17, was traveling northbound on Route B south of McGee Road in a 2004 Dodge at 6:21 p.m. Sunday when she crossed the center line and collided with a Boone Hospital Center ambulance traveling in the opposite direction, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Web site.

Fadler was listed in fair condition Monday night, according to University Hospital House Manager Deneal Sullivan.

Ambulance driver James Payne, 57, of Fulton was uninjured after the accident. David Thomas, 56, of Hallsville refused treatment at the scene after suffering minor injuries, according to the highway patrol. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
