One killed in drive-by shooting in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS — A woman was killed and her husband critically wounded in a drive-by shooting on the Poplar Street Bridge, according to the Illinois State Police.

Shannon Federick, 23, of St. Louis died.

Federick, her husband and another passenger were westbound on the bridge, which connects Illinois and Missouri, Sunday at about 3:20 a.m. when shots were fired.

Afterward, the husband drove to St. Louis Police Headquarters downtown for help.

The victims were transported to a hospital.

The husband remains in critical condition.
