BOONVILLE — A 46-year-old Cooper County man died from hypothermia on a night when temperatures dipped to 10 degrees.

Boonville police said that Greg Gerling was found dead Wednesday morning in a wooded area. He was wearing socks without shoes and no coat.

Gerling's mother thinks her son suffered a seizure that left him disoriented before he went outside. Pat Gerling said her son was in a car accident when he was 17 that left him legally blind and susceptible to seizures.
