COLUMBIA — Only one point separated Stephens College girls swimming and Hannibal LaGrange this weekend.

Hannibal LaGrange defeated Stephens College 83-82.

The swimming teams met Saturday for a meet in Hannibal. With four fewer girls than Hannibal LaGrange’s twelve, however, it was hard for Stephens to catch up.

Stephens’ swimming coach, Laura Wacker, spoke to the problems that come with having fewer team members.

“You pretty much have to win every event if you are down by four girls.” “We didn’t swim well but a couple girls had their personal best times,” Wacker said.

Stephens College and Hannibal LaGrange will meet again at Stephens on Feburary, 21.
