The Rock Bridge wrestling team beat De Smet Jesuit 48-30 in its final dual of the season Saturday in Creve Coeur.

Pins decided 10 of the 12 matches. Seven Rock Bridge wrestlers won by pin.

“What was good about this dual was our kids didn’t wrestle bad,” Bruins coach Travis Craig said by phone. “The matches they won were matches they were supposed to win. No one did anything they weren’t supposed to.”

The Bruins were coming off a tough loss Thursday against visiting Jefferson City. Craig said that dual taught his team you can take positives away from a loss. With this victory, the team’s confidence is higher going into the district tournament.

“We’re going to keep on working on the fundamentals,” Craig said. “Working on our match strategy. Make sure that we’re still in good condition. Make sure our kids keep their confidence level up.”

The Class 4, District 3 tournament takes place next weekend in Jefferson City.
