Tuesday, February 24, 2009 | 9:54 p.m. CST

COLUMBIA – Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the parking lot of the Dollar General at 106 Business Loop 70 W. on Tuesday evening, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

According to the release, the altercation first began at Hong Kong Restaurant on Business Loop 70 West where the suspects, eight to 10 males, began taunting the 36-year-old victim about his cell phone ring tone. The suspects then left the restaurant before the victim.

When the victim exited the restaurant, he drove to Dollar General and, while leaving, spotted the suspects in the parking lot. They continued to verbally harass the victim and, as he got into his car, he exchanged words with the suspects. While backing out, the victim heard the suspects shouting followed by three or four gunshots, the release said. He proceeded to drive away quickly and dialed 911 at a safe distance.

The victim sustained no injuries and there is no evidence of damage to his vehicle. More detailed descriptions of the suspects or which individual fired the shots is not known at this time.

Officers arriving on the scene discovered shell casings in the parking lot matching the victim’s description of the events.

Merchants, sharing that parking lot, and the Gas station across the street, know they have some "toughies" in that area.
From the article: "According to the release, the altercation first began at Hong Kong Restaurant on Business Loop 70 West where the suspects, eight to 10 males, began taunting the 36-year-old victim about his cell phone ring tone."
8-10 males. Gang? Or, a pack of Frat boys letting off steam?

I'd probably yell at the guy too if his ring tone is Holla Back Girl

Maybe his ring tone should have this:

Then they would have all been smiling.
