Columbia College women's team edges Harris Stowe

With 18 seconds to play, Whitney Davis made two free throws and Fiona Sparks made one to give the Columbia College women's basketball team an 83-80 victory over Harris Stowe on Thursday night at Southwell Complex in the Cougars' final regular season game.

The victory moves No. 17 Columbia College to 27-3 and 14-2 in the American Midwest Conference and earns the Cougars at least a share of the conference regular season title. The rest of the AMC plays final conference contests Saturday. 

Rachel Oswald led the Cougars with a career-high 33 points and 16 rebounds. Whitney Widaman scored 11 points, Brittany Taylor had 10, while Davis finished with eight points and nine assists.

Columbia College led 47-27 at halftime after holding Harris Stowe to 7-for-24 shooting forcing 16 turnovers.
