The No. 12-ranked Missouri softball team defeated the University of Missouri-Kansas City 9-0 in six innings Friday at the All-Missouri Breast Cancer Awareness tournament in Springfield.

The win improves the team's record to 15-3 this season.

Senior Stacy Delaney (2-1) pitched all six innings for the win. She struck out 10 batters and walked one.

Sophomore center fielder Rhea Taylor went 2-for-3 and hit her second home run of the season in the second inning.

Columbia native Shana White was 3-for-4 in the game for the Tigers.

Missouri will face Southeast Missouri at 2 p.m. Saturday in Springfield. The Tigers follow up with a doubleheader against Saint Louis University at 11 a.m. and tournament host Missouri State at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Missouri already defeated Saint Louis twice this season in a doubleheader at University Field.
