JOPLIN — A 26-year-old southwest Missouri man has been bound over for trial for the alleged sexual assault of a woman while she was asleep in bed with her husband.

The woman testified Thursday at a preliminary hearing for Cody Vinson of Carl Junction, who is charged with deviate sexual assault.

She told the court that she and her husband were friends with Vinson and were with him the night of Oct. 10 at a Joplin bar. She said Vinson did not have a ride, so she and her husband offered to take him home with them and he accepted.

The woman testified she went to bed, awoke at 1 a.m., saw Vinson asleep on the couch and her husband in bed with her. But she said she again woke up at 3 a.m. with Vinson standing beside her bed, molesting her.

The judge ordered Vinson back to court on March 20.

"Man charged with molesting woman in bed with her husband"

How do you molest someone with a husband? I imagine he is a big guy, so I don't understand how he could just pick him up.
