ST. CHARLES — A Lake St. Louis man is dead after crashing his motorcycle while being chased by a state trooper.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Al Nothum says a trooper saw 20-year-old Loren Ryan speeding and weaving in traffic Thursday morning on Interstate 70 in St. Charles County. A pursuit began but the trooper lost sight of the suspect.

Moments later, the trooper saw the motorcycle on Highway 94 and renewed the chase. Nothum says Ryan lost control and crashed.

Ryan died Thursday at a hospital.
