The Columbia Police Department has taken four juveniles into custody after investigating reports of shots fired in the 1400 block of Raleigh Drive on Sunday night, according to a release from the Police Department.

When officers arrived at the scene on Sunday, they were told by witnesses where the shots originated. The release said that officers located shell casings at the back of the home and entered the residence. Upon entry, they found a handgun and stolen items.

According to the release, the weapon used in the incident had been reported stolen in a burglary. Police also recovered property from several burglaries in the Northridge subdivision, including a vehicle from Boonville driven by the suspects.

The juveniles, ages 14, 14, 15 and 16, were taken into custody by Columbia Police.  Three of them have been remanded to the Boone County Juvenile Authorities, according to the release.
