WASHINGTON — Missouri airports are going to benefit from the federal economic stimulus package.

U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill announced Tuesday that the state has received a $7 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will distribute the money to airports across the state.

McCaskill said in a news release that she believes federal grants and loans are a "positive alternative to earmarks." In the past, she said, earmarks have been authorized during "a secretive process with little accountability."
