COLUMBIA — Police arrested a middle-age man suspected of committing strong-arm robbery Friday morning at a convenience store when he grabbed cash from the store's register.

Andre L. Logan, 35, of Columbia was arrested early Friday afternoon in connection with the robbery, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.

At 8:42 a.m., a man walked into a Break Time location at 200 N. Providence Road. After entering the store, he waited near the register for the clerk to open the drawer, the release said. Once the drawer was opened, the man reached across the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash.

The clerk tried to grab the man's arm, but he pulled free and ran away on foot before police arrived, the release said.
