LETTER: Robison an independent voice in Sixth Ward

Monday, April 6, 2009 | 10:37 a.m. CDT

I am not a resident of the Sixth Ward, but I still feel compelled to write and support Rod Robison.

I have known Rod for eight years through Boy Scout Troop 701. He has amazed me with his continued high level of time involvement, even after his son aged out. He even takes a week of vacation to go to summer camp each year with the young men.

I have had multitudes of lengthy discussions with Rod about our community, even before I knew he had any interest in the City Council. He is truly a balanced candidate with no real dog in the fight for either the "greenies" or the business community. He just wants our city to be the best it can be. He is an advocate for the parks and trails and he realizes that business creates the jobs and revenue. To make Columbia better, it truly is time for change and the Sixth Ward has a great opportunity with Rob Robison to represent them.
