ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis woman has pleaded guilty to a federal charge for holding a mentally disabled woman captive and forcing her to work as a prostitute.

Sentencing is July 7 for 34-year-old Waquita "Goddess" Wallace, who could get up to 15 years in prison. She pleaded guilty on Monday to a sex trafficking charge.

The victim is referred to in court papers only as "Jane Doe." Authorities said the victim's cousin owed Wallace $3,300 for drugs. To pay it off, the cousin gave up Jane Doe to Wallace, who forced her into prostitution.

Calls to Wallace's attorney were not returned.

Authorities have said Wallace felt she owned the woman and used proceeds from the prostitution to buy liquor and drugs.

Wallace's sister and a man pleaded guilty to federal charges last fall.
