ST. LOUIS — Making college more affordable will be the focus of a visit to the University of Missouri-St. Louis by Vice President Joe Biden.
About 300 people were expected at the town hall-style meeting Friday morning. Biden will be joined by fellow Democrats Gov. Jay Nixon and Sen. Claire McCaskill, as well as U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan.
It is the third meeting of the Middle Class Task Force, a Biden-led group of Cabinet members and administration officials. Biden also plans to announce a new program to train Missouri youth for future jobs during a visit to a Boys & Girls Club.
Biden arrived in Missouri on Thursday, visiting Whiteman Air Force Base and a transformer factory in Jefferson City, where he highlighted benefits of the federal stimulus package.
