JEFFERSON CITY — Missourians won't have to pay state sales tax for new, energy-saving appliances through Saturday. The state's weeklong exemption allows consumers to purchase Energy-Star appliances without paying the state's 4.225 percent sales tax. Lawmakers included the sales tax holiday in a 2008 bill designed to increase energy efficiency.
