Sikeston robbery might be linked to one in Tennessee

SIKESTON — Authorities are investigating two similar robberies that happened about 90 minutes apart — one in southeast Missouri and the other in Tennessee.

The first crime occurred about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sally Beauty Supply in Sikeston. The victim told police she was approached by a man carrying a gun who forced her to open the door to the business and take him inside. The man took money and the victim's cell phone.

An hour-and-a-half later in Dyersburg, Tenn., a similar robbery occurred. Authorities say the description of the assailant was the same.
