Rock Bridge golfers second at invitational

The Rock Bridge boys golf team placed second in Monday's Capital City Invitational Tournament at the Meadowlake Country Club in Jefferson City, while Hickman tied for seventh.

Rockhurst  won the 16-team tournament with a 309.

Bruins golfer Tyler Cornell, who tied for seventh, shot a 78 on the Par-72 course to lead Rock Bridge to a 320. Tyler Kolb finished 12th with a 79. Scott Skrabal had an 80, while Wilson Sundvold and Andrew McGinnis each shot 83s.

Hickman tied for seventh with Helias with a 355. Matt Garner led the Kewpies with a 78 and Mike Wilson shot an 81, followed by Logan Forsythe (87), Tyler Daly (89) and Casey Johnson (94).

Rock Bridge is scheduled to host a quadrangular tournament at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Old Hawthorne against Helias, Jefferson City and Hickman.
