JEFFERSON CITY — Some child rapists could face mandatory life prison sentences under a measure sent to Gov. Jay Nixon. The Senate gave final approval Wednesday night to a bill requiring life sentences when children younger than 12 are raped or sodomized in cases that involve torture or "depravity of mind."
