Two arrested in Columbia robbery at Red Roof Inn

COLUMBIA – Police arrested two unidentified suspects Wednesday after a robbery occurred in a vehicle in the parking lot of the Red Roof Inn at 201 E. Texas Ave., according to a department news release. Columbia police first responded at approximately 3:45 p.m.

According to police, the female suspect contacted the female victim to arrange a meeting at the motel. Police said the two females know each other.

Upon the victim’s arrival, the two suspects entered her car and demanded cash. The victim also said the male suspect possessed a handgun, which he showed her during the robbery.

Both suspects were taken into custody at the scene, and the Columbia Police Department is currently investigating the crime.
