Missing boy, Christian Ferguson, to be honored in St. Louis parade

Friday, June 5, 2009 | 10:29 a.m. CDT

ST. LOUIS — A parade will take place in St. Louis on Saturday to remember Christian Ferguson, a boy who has been missing since 2003.

The event has been planned in part by Theda Thomas, Christian's mother.

Christian disappeared on June 11, 2003. He had severe disabilities and required constant care and medication.

Christian's father called 911 from a pay phone, saying someone had taken his vehicle with the boy inside. The vehicle was later located, but Christian was never found.

The St. Louis parade is set for 10 a.m. Saturday at North City Church of Christ. Organizers say it will honor Christian as well as people who lost their lives to violence.
