Former Gov. Matt Blunt collides with scooter

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Former Gov. Matt Blunt has been ticketed after he was involved in a traffic accident.

Officers said Blunt collided his sport utility vehicle into a man riding a scooter at a central Springfield intersection around 7 p.m. Monday.

The 21-year-old scooter driver was taken to a local hospital with scrapes on a forearm and a bruise on his head. His name was not released.

Blunt was issued a summons for failing to yield the right of way.
