COLUMBIA – A 21-year-old Columbia man died Monday night after crashing his motorcycle into a guard rail on the McBaine Bridge over Perche Creek, according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff's Department.

Ryan Hall was riding a 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle east on Route K at about 8 p.m. and lost control of the vehicle at the bridge entrance, the release states. Emergency personnel attempted to revive Hall, but he died at the scene.

Major Tom Reddin of the sheriff's department said the exact cause of the accident is still unknown. Hall was wearing a helmet.

The investigation is ongoing.
