QUITMAN — The Missouri State Highway Patrol has called off a dig connected to the 2001 disappearance of a Skidmore man.

The dig near Quitman in Nodaway County began Tuesday after the patrol got a tip in the disappearance of Branson Perry. However, the dig was called off Wednesday.

Patrol Sgt. Sheldon Lyon said investigators continue to get tips in Perry's disappearance and is making progress in the case, but he would not elaborate.

Perry was 20 when he disappeared April 11, 2001. He was last seen at home in Skidmore.
