Table Rock Lake park opening delayed

Friday, June 12, 2009 | 11:37 a.m. CDT

SPRINGFIELD — Extensive damage from last year's flood and this spring's wet weather have delayed the opening of Mill Creek Park on Table Rock Lake.

The Army Corps of Engineers says the magnitude of the damage caused by last year's flood has prolonged repair work.

That means all reservations at the park for the rest of the season have been canceled. Anyone with reservations can get a full refund. If parts of the park can be opened later this season, campsites will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The boat launch ramp at the park will be open, but some interruptions could be experienced because of ongoing construction.
