ST. LOUIS — Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder and former U.S. Sen. Jim Talent have endorsed Congressman Roy Blunt's bid for the U.S. Senate.

Kinder and Talent, also Republicans, announced their support for Blunt at a gathering in St. Louis on Saturday.

Blunt is the only Republican to have declared his candidacy for the 2010 race so far. The only Democratic candidate is Secretary of State Robin Carnahan.

Blunt and Carnahan are seeking to replace Sen. Kit Bond, who's retiring.
