CAPE GIRARDEAU — Authorities in southeast Missouri continue to search for a 25-year-old woman after blood smears were found at her home.

Relatives reported Leeann Hopson missing over the weekend. A relative went to check her home Sunday evening and called police after noting a large front window had been broken. The window and door were smeared with blood, and drops of blood lined the sidewalk.

Police arrived and found more blood inside.

Authorities say a check of area hospitals turned up no signs of Hopson.
