COLUMBIA — A Moberly pastor and Christian school principal accused of fondling a 16-year-old girl at a Columbia hotel has been acquitted of a child molestation charge.

But 42-year-old James M. Wilson of Renick still faces a September trial in Randolph County on a kidnapping charge.

Wilson was found not guilty of the child molestation charge last week by Larry Bryson, Boone County associate circuit judge.

The judge ruled that parts of the girl's testimony were not credible, said Andrew Scholz, assistant prosecuting attorney.
