Swine flu arrives in Cole County

JEFFERSON CITY — Cole County has its first confirmed swine flu case.

The Cole County Health Department said the case involves an infant less than one year old.

Officials said the baby "had recently traveled to areas were H1N1 is prevalent," but no location was specified.

The baby was taken to an emergency room upon returning to Cole County and exhibiting flu symptoms.

So far, the state has 54 confirmed swine flu cases in 14 counties.
