Nixon appoints Shellabarger as new prosecutor

JEFFERSON CITY — Gov. Jay Nixon has picked a new prosecutor for Audrain County.

Jacob Shellabarger takes office Wednesday. He succeeds Jason Lamb, who resigned to become executive director of the Missouri Office of Prosecution Services.

Shellabarger had been an assistant prosecutor in the northeast Missouri county. His appointment was announced Tuesday.

Shellabarger earned his bachelor's and law degrees at MU. He joined the Audrain prosecutor's office in September 2007.
