JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri auditor candidate Tom Schweich is touting the endorsement of Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder.

Schweich is one of two Republicans seeking to challenge Democratic Auditor Susan Montee in the 2010 elections.

Kinder's endorsement comes a week after rival Allen Icet said his auditor's campaign had picked up endorsements from 80 of his fellow 88 Republican state House members.

Schweich is an attorney from St. Louis who was a State Department official under former President George W. Bush.
