UNION — The Humane Society of Missouri wants the public to help name two of the newest critters at Longmeadow Rescue Ranch near Union.

A miniature horse and a miniature donkey, both females, were born at the eastern Missouri ranch in May.

Five names have been suggested for each. The public can vote through July 31 on the ranch's Web site.

For the baby donkey, the choices are Butter Cup, Choola, Genevieve, Juniper and Zippy. The choices for the little horse are Calypso, Cookies 'n Cream, Moon Pie, Penelope, and Starlet.
