Man arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking

COLUMBIA — A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree drug trafficking Friday afternoon, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.

Police arrested Darnell Andre Payne after the department's SWAT team served a search warrant at his 3214 Dove Drive residence, where they found cocaine and marijuana, the release states.

Payne was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, the release states.
